About Airspeed Aviation
Airspeed Aviation was formed by Scott Merrill. A third generation Arizona native, Scott grew up flying in various types of GA aircraft with his father and grandfather. From singles and light twins to hot air balloons, helicopters and corperate jets. Scott flew his first solo at age 16 and has been flying certified and experimental aircraft for more than 20 years.
While earning his Airframe and Powerplant licenses, Scott worked in the field of heavy aircraft maintanence on Boeing, Airbus and McDonnell Douglas. After leaving the heavy industry, Scott applied his skill set to building experimental aircraft. Completing the assembly of Glasair, Compair, Glasstar, Europa, and Legend airplanes. While earning his Inspection Authorization, Scott honed his skills working on certified airplanes including, single and twin engine, Cessna, Piper and Beechcraft. In the years since Scott aquired his I.A., Airspeed Aviation has worked with owners and pilots of all types of GA aircraft including composite designs by Cirrus , Diamond and Extra.
Being a father and an aircraft owner, Scott understands how important safety is when it comes to the trust your passengers have in you and your aircraft.
